India’s quest for energy security and sustainable development rests a great deal on the ability to tap energy from alternate sources or the renewable sources. With fast paced economic growth and the ever increasing demand for energy, the need to supplement our requirements by harnessing renewable sources is being felt all the more. Global warming and climate change due to excessive use of fossil fuels increases the urgency of finding green sources and methods of generating energy.
India is home to an abundance of non-depleting and environment friendly renewable energy resources. To address the issue on an urgent basis, the ministry for new and renewable energy, has embarked on a country wide ambitious programme to deploy greener products and systems. |
